Questions
Using your Water Purifier Bottle for travel and daily hydration
The OASSAY Water Purifier Bottle is designed for travel and everyday exploration as well as outdoor adventures. Its dual-stage filtration combines a NanoFlex Carbon layer with a 0.1-micron hollow-fiber membrane. The carbon layer helps improve water taste. Check the instructions and water source limitations before use. See our Safety and Performance Data page for the reported SGS test results.
What are the primary threats I need to worry about when drinking outdoor water?
In most backcountry environments (like mountain streams, rivers, and lakes), the most common and significant threats arebacteria, parasites (protozoa), and organic pollutants. The OASSAY filter is specifically engineered to highly effectively remove these contaminants, ensuring your water is safe and great-tasting wherever your adventures take you.
What does the SGS MS2 bacteriophage test show
The tested OASSAY sample achieved more than 99.999% removal of MS2 bacteriophage in SGS laboratory testing. MS2 bacteriophage is a surrogate used in virus testing. This result applies to MS2 bacteriophage under the conditions of that test. It does not establish equivalent removal of every virus under all water conditions.
Use your OASSAY Water Purifier Bottle according to the instructions and water source limitations. See our Safety and Performance Data page for the reported test results.
Can I use it to filter seawater?
No. Please do not use the filter with seawater. OASSAY filters cannot remove dissolved salts, and filtering saltwater will damage the membrane.
For your safety, you should also avoid water sources that are clearly contaminated with industrial chemicals, heavy agricultural runoff (pesticides), or extremely thick mud and sediment.
When should I backwash the filter, and do I need a special tool?
You should backwash the filter whenever you notice a significant decrease in flow rate (especially after filtering cloudy or murky water), and always right before storing the filter long-term.
Do you need a special tool? Yes, backwashing requires a specific backwash pouch.
The great news is that starting in June 2026, OASSAY includes this backwash pouch in the box with every filter as a standard accessory. You do not need to purchase it separately.
Is it dishwasher safe?
Yes, the bottles in the FlexFlow Pro series are dishwasher safe.
⚠️ Important: The filter cartridge itself is NOT dishwasher safe. Please remember to remove the filter cartridge before placing the bottle or cap in the dishwasher.
